5th International workshop on Aedes albopictus (Montpellier, France)



The "5th international workshop on Aedes albopictus" was hosted on the 11-13 of May 2022 in Montpellier, with the suport of the University of Montpellier in partnership with the Occitanie Region, “Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole” and the “Institut de Recherche pour le Développement”.

The congress brought together international researchers from 20 different countries to present their latest findings on the tiger mosquito, its genetics, biology and distribution, as well as innovative solutions for its control. IRTA-CReSA contributed to the workshop with a poster titled “Application of a new intelligent sensor for the remote monitoring of mosquitoes in the field” where the results about the sensor performance in field conditions were presented.

The work was proposed by the organizers for a flash talk presentation which aroused interest and some questions in the audience. Thanks to the participation in this congress, one contact was stablished with a researcher from a Maldivian institution for a future collaboration.
