The 2nd AIM-COST Annual Conference of Aedes Invasive Mosquitoes (AIM-COST) was hosted on the 12th and 13th of February 2020 in the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the NOVA University of Lisbon (IHMT NOVA). During the conference, academic institutions and national health institutes from 34 European countries presented their work in the field of public health, medical entomology and mosquito-borne diseases. The meeting was focused on Surveillance of Aedes Invasive Mosquitoes in Europe. All consortium partners participated in this event.

Partner IRTA-CReSA made an oral presentation on the preliminary results of the VECTRACK project obtained during 2018 and 2019 about the “Automatic classification of mosquitoes by specie, sex and age with a novel optical sensor prototype”. The presentation generated a big interest among the audience which led to an interesting discussion about the implementation of the presented technology to mosquito surveillance.
