From the 7th to the 10th of October 2021, the 10th EMCA (European Mosquito Control Association) International Conference was held in Vienna, Austria.

It was the first conference held face-to-face after COVID (in Vienna, Austria). To celebrate Avia-GIS acted as the sole golden sponsor to promote VECMAP and VECTRACK.

With an audience of researchers, public health workers and representatives from the biggest companies that work with mosquito control, there were dozens of oral presentations and posters, all in regard to mosquito control. During the second day of the conference, an oral presentation was made by partner INSA-CEVDI (with the support of IRIDEON) about the state of the dissemination of the Aedes albopictus population in Algarve, Portugal and how the VECTRACK sensor can help in monitoring the expansion of this species. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and the presentation was awarded with the prize for second best presentation made by young researchers.
